Children’s Literature and Harry Potter: How far does J K Rowling transcends the canonical confines of children’s literature and claims the heights of ‘real’ literature?
we can read Harry Potter series as children’s literature, especially written for pleasure and entertainment. No doubt it has quality and content that we can judge it as children’s literature. It is highly imaginative, full of fancy, not so simple but straight forward moving story (journey from birth to adulthood of Harry). There are children as character and even Harry is our hero in the narrative, they are the doer of action. Most important thing is that when we are child and for entertainment we read novel it’s a great pleasure but when we grown up and a mature as we can think about harry potter novel so we find that it’s look like our life story .we connect our life from birth to present situation and also death. Though it is the story of a child’s journey from birth to adulthood, but as the story move forward, it becomes deeper and philosophical thoughts are also become more prominent. Not only the thoughts but the hardship of the life also increases. But the theme of life and death is very well presented in this novel but ass child literature also all the elements have in novel so we can judge harry potter as a real (life) time hero..
