purity of Blood and Harry Potter:

Discourse on the purity of Blood and
Harry Potter: How do the novels play with the
thesis of pure blood (Master Race) giving an
anti-thesis by belonging protagonists to half-
blood / Mud-blood? What sort of synthesis is
sought in this discourse in Harry Potter series?

Concept of purity of blood (race) is very much present in the Harry Potter. Establishing social order by master race is not a new idea. Killing other as inferior race is very prominent in the history.
Now the point is that what is attacked by J.K. Rowling in the Harry Potter? And what she finally wants to establish as a conclusion by the thesis- antithesis on race?

Protagonist- Harry Potter and Hermione Granger are  Mud -blood. Ron Weasley is a pure blood. Draco Malfoy is also pure blood. Where as evil Voldemort is Mud Blood but craving for pure blood.
Rowling SUBVERTS the entire narrative by making protagonists who are mud bloods. And important thing is that they are equally or sometimes more powerful in magic than Pure blood. so, definitely it leads us to think that what should be criteria to judge the people - Race/ blood or merit?.

At the same time we have to keep in mind that Rowling is not despising Pure blood. Voldemort is evil and he is also mud blood. if writer make Voldemort as a pure blood, then definitely it is problematic.Witches and wizards consider themselves superior than non-magic people or non-human species like elves and giants. This act again shows racism working within the magical world.

It is a satire on Voldemort kind of people that idea of superior race is dangerous/ harmful.  recent History has proved us that how dangerous it is.

many a  times reference comes in the novel that , how pure blood were insulting mud bloods as inferior. And if we hear this kind of dialogue even today in and around us, then we've to be double careful.

Harry Potter as a Speculative Fiction:

=>What is Speculative Literature?

#Speculative Literature is a genre in which the supernatural elements are used most. It is not limited one but into it there were also science fiction, fantasy, superhero fiction, science fantasy, horror, and supernatural fiction, as well as their combination.

Harry Potter as a Speculative Fiction:

#Harry Potter novel by J.K.Rowling and into it we find that some elements related to horror and fantasy. In the all series we found that there were only the fantasy world, not real one. Magic was there and it is also a part of speculative Literature. Hermione well used magic rather than other two Harry and Ron. Entire series of Harry Potter based on the Horror, because the setting of the movie is night. The other horror elements are there were Voldemort comes in the environment of Hogworts there were always we see darkness is there.

#Harry Potter as a science fiction we can see into the class of potion. There were always we learn new thing about the magic. Hermione made some potion for her friends to disappear. Other we notice that only the professor of potion change every time not other one.

#As we all know that it is a fantasy movie or novel not real one. In the movie we see that there are the things like broomsticks, wand, cloak, magical stone is a part of fantasy world. In reality there were not anything like that. The magical thing also banned in some religion also. Like in Christianity and Muslim culture it is bad thing to do.

#when we talk about the supernatural elements into the Harry Potter is that Harry's perants appears in the movie so many times. Whenever Harry was in trouble there were some kind of magical power, who saved him. Harry always think that it was his perants who always with him, but it it his inner power or we can say his strength who saved him.

Feminist Reading ......of Harmione’s character in Harry Potter:

Feminist reading of Harmione’s character in Harry Potter:How do the character portrayal of Harmione and other female characters support feminist discourse?

Hermione not only as a strong female character, an essential part of harry's life but also as a feminist protagonist in her own right. We see Hermione the giggler, helpful, capable and she was emotionally expressive and clever. She is depicted in many different ways, and this show that all of these distinctive attributed put together make her a strong female because she can be all of these.
Hermione is the perfect example when examining the feminist in the novel. throughout the series she has many strengths and weakness as a character. we can see in the movie there Hermione compare to the man that she was more know bookish knowledge and real word than man. and also she helps boy for his bookish knowledge. She was always knew the correct answer. She was repeatedly the truth sleuth, comfortable in library, who finds the clue that makes sense of the mystery at hand. She could solve clues like her life defended on it. Which came in handy when her life literary depended on it.
The best part about hermione being exceptionally good at magic was that she never questioned her self. Hermione regards her friendship with harry and Ron over everything, and also she had positive male friendship. she was also physically and morally strong character.

McGonagall is a feminist because her every actions and every decision she makes don’t depend on a man in her life. Her reality does not center on behavior of any man, or anyone that she loves. Also, the other thing that contributes her attributes to feminism is the fact that all of the fighting that she does in her life is to protect the students and Hogwarts, instead of fighting to defend or shield a man she is in love with. This fact that a woman is not blinded by love, and can fight and make her own decisions in life, makes her a feminist because, just like Story's definition, she is a woman who has her own power, and does not need a man in her life to tell her what to do, or to fight for, or to do anything for at all.

Children’s Literature and Harry Potter: ...

Children’s Literature and Harry Potter: How far does J K Rowling transcends the canonical confines of children’s literature and claims the heights of ‘real’ literature?

we can read Harry Potter series as children’s literature, especially written for pleasure and entertainment. No doubt it has quality and content that we can judge it as children’s literature. It is highly imaginative, full of fancy, not so simple but straight forward moving story (journey from birth to adulthood of Harry). There are children as character and even Harry is our hero in the narrative, they are the doer of action. Most important thing is that when we are child and for entertainment we read novel it’s a great pleasure but when we grown up and a mature as we can think about harry potter novel so we find that it’s look like our life story .we connect our life from birth to present situation and also death. Though it is the story of a child’s journey from birth to adulthood, but as the story move forward, it becomes deeper and philosophical thoughts are also become more prominent. Not only the thoughts but the hardship of the life also increases. But the theme of life and death is very well presented in this novel but ass child literature also all the elements have in novel so we can judge harry potter as a real (life) time hero..
